  • What is the ChefConf Cancellation Policy?

    Cancellations received by 11:59 PM Pacific Time between April 30th and May 4th 2018 will receive a 50% refund. Cancellations after May 4th, as well as ‘no shows’, will be liable for the FULL registration fee.
    Should Chef cancel ChefConf 2018, paid registered attendees will be refunded for their registration fees only. No other costs will be refunded.

    Please notify the registration office of any cancellations by emailing the Registration Team.

    Cancellations of travel and hotel reservations are the responsibility of the registrant.

    Registered attendees must be present at the event to receive their conference materials.

    Substitutions:

    If you are unable to attend ChefConf2018, you may transfer your registration to another person by contacting the Registration Team. Substitutions will be permitted through May 8, 2018. Please also note hotel deadlines, if applicable.

  • When does early bird pricing end?

    Early bird registration ends April 20, 2018. At that point, ticket prices for ChefConf will increase from $675 to $995

  • How can I stay up to date on all ChefConf happenings?

    Please follow the ChefConf category on our blog and the #chefconf hashtag and @chef on Twitter.

  • When and how can I register for ChefConf?

    Registration will available mid-January 2018

  • What type of weather can I expect in May in Chicago?

    May in Chicago means the good weather is finally coming into effect and the promise of summer is imminent. The average daily temperature for Chicago in May is a warm 69 degrees F (21°C), but this can drop to 48 degrees F (9°C) on average.

  • Does Chef have a published Code of Conduct?

    We expect participants to adhere to the code of conduct at all conference venues and conference-related social events.

  • Can I bring a plus one to the Thursday night Community Celebration? What about the other evening social events?

    Yes, if you are interested in bringing a plus one to the ChefConf evening social events, there is a minor charge of $50 for this special guest pass. Please indicate the addition of a guest pass during the registration process.

  • Do you need to be 21 to attend the Community Celebration?

    Yes, the Wednesday night party is 21 and over. No minors will be allowed into the venue.

  • Is the Community Summit separate from ChefConf? Is there a price to attend?

    The Community Summit is separate from ChefConf and will be held on Tuesday, May 22nd. There is limited capacity for this event. Please register for this event during your registration process. There is a minimal cost of $50 to attend. If you are a speaker, the community summit is included in your pass, just indicate your interest in attending during the registration process.

  • Will the event by filmed and photographed?

    Our goal is to capture the excitement and Chef community during the event. You may see photographers or videographers documenting ChefConf. It’s possible you may even appear in some of these shots.

    We also encourage attendees to share their conference experiences through social media. We invite you to speak with any photographer if you have concerns about their activities. Photos or videos taken by or on behalf of Chef may be posted on one or more of our sites or used in future marketing materials and publications.

  • What should I wear?

    Come as you are. Most of our community is comfortable in jeans, a t-shirt and a hoodie. Remember that most of your time will be spent inside and event spaces tend to get cool. Plan to layer!

  • Are there sponsorship opportunities?

    Yes, see the Sponsorship page for details.

  • Is there a conference app available?

    Yes, we will have a mobile app. All registrants will be notified when it launches closes to the conference.

  • Will meals be provided?

    All scheduled meals noted in the agenda are included as part of your Conference Pass fee. This includes the Wednesday evening Welcome Reception and the Thursday night Community Celebration.
